Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Portrait Of William Stackhouse (1720–1771) by Johann Zoffany was sold in the Old Master & British Paintings Day Sale auction at Sothebys in London in December 2014. The price achieved of GBP 23,750.00 (€ 30,574.13) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Johann Zoffany achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Garden At Hampton House, With Mr And Mrs David Garrick Taking Tea; And The Shakespeare Temple At Hampton House, With Mr And Mrs David Garrick in December 2011 with an auction result of GBP 6,761,250.00 (€ 8,097,551.93).

Die Arbeit Portrait Of William Stackhouse (1720–1771) von Johann Zoffany wurde im Dezember 2014 in der Auktion Old Master & British Paintings Day Sale bei Sothebys in London versteigert.
