Auction result well in line with expectations
The work After Johann Joseph Zoffany (British, 1733-1810) Colonel Mordaunt's Cock Match. At Lucknow in the Province of Oude in the Year 1786 at Which Were Present Several High and Distinguished Personages' by Johann Zoffany was sold in the Travel & Exploration auction at Bonhams in London in September last year. The price achieved of GBP 1,147.50 (€ 1,305.97) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Johann Zoffany achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Garden At Hampton House, With Mr And Mrs David Garrick Taking Tea; And The Shakespeare Temple At Hampton House, With Mr And Mrs David Garrick in December 2011 with an auction result of GBP 6,761,250.00 (€ 8,097,551.93).

Die Arbeit After Johann Joseph Zoffany (British, 1733-1810) Colonel Mordaunt's Cock Match. At Lucknow in the Province of Oude in the Year 1786 at Which Were Present Several High and Distinguished Personages' von Johann Zoffany wurde im September letzten Jahres in der Auktion Travel & Exploration bei Bonhams in London versteigert. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Garden At Hampton House, With Mr And Mrs David Garrick Taking Tea; And The Shakespeare Temple At Hampton House, With Mr And Mrs David Garrick im Dezember 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 6.761.250,00 (€ 8.097.551,93).
