Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2020 Sothebys in London held the auction Refining Taste: Works Selected by Danny Katz, which included the work Sinior Cazanigos Marriage In Toschana by Johann Zoffany. The price achieved of GBP 4,000.00 (€ 4,440.44) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Johann Zoffany achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Garden At Hampton House, With Mr And Mrs David Garrick Taking Tea; And The Shakespeare Temple At Hampton House, With Mr And Mrs David Garrick in December 2011 with an auction result of GBP 6,761,250.00 (€ 8,097,551.93).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai 2020 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Refining Taste: Works Selected by Danny Katz durch, in der auch die Arbeit Sinior Cazanigos Marriage In Toschana von Johann Zoffany zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 4.000,00 (€ 4.440,44) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Johann Zoffany erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Garden At Hampton House, With Mr And Mrs David Garrick Taking Tea; And The Shakespeare Temple At Hampton House, With Mr And Mrs David Garrick im Dezember 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 6.761.250,00 (€ 8.097.551,93).
