The work Pugilists by Johann Zoffany was sold in the Refining Taste: Works Selected by Danny Katz auction at Sothebys in London in May 2020. The result of GBP 3,000.00 (€ 3,330.33) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Johann Zoffany achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Garden At Hampton House, With Mr And Mrs David Garrick Taking Tea; And The Shakespeare Temple At Hampton House, With Mr And Mrs David Garrick in December 2011 with an auction result of GBP 6,761,250.00 (€ 8,097,551.93).
