Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2014 Sothebys in London held the auction Old Master & British Paintings Day Sale, which included the work Portrait Of Sir Robert Preston, 6Th Bt. (1740-1834) by Johann Zoffany. The price achieved of GBP 50,000.00 (€ 64,366.58) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Johann Zoffany achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Garden At Hampton House, With Mr And Mrs David Garrick Taking Tea; And The Shakespeare Temple At Hampton House, With Mr And Mrs David Garrick in December 2011 with an auction result of GBP 6,761,250.00 (€ 8,097,551.93).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Dezember 2014 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Old Master & British Paintings Day Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Portrait Of Sir Robert Preston, 6Th Bt. (1740-1834) von Johann Zoffany zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 50.000,00 (€ 64.366,58) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 40.000,00 – 60.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Johann Zoffany erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Garden At Hampton House, With Mr And Mrs David Garrick Taking Tea; And The Shakespeare Temple At Hampton House, With Mr And Mrs David Garrick im Dezember 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 6.761.250,00 (€ 8.097.551,93).
