In September 2005 Christies in New York held the auction THE HOUSE SALE, which included the work Ships at low tide with a village beyond by Johan Adolph Rust. The »bidding war« ended at USD 2,400.00 (€ 1,990.38), 60% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Johan Adolph Rust achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A shipyard in October 2000 with an auction result of NLG 64,361.00 (€ 30,891.16).

Im September 2005 führte Christies in New York die Auktion THE HOUSE SALE durch, in der auch die Arbeit Ships at low tide with a village beyond von Johan Adolph Rust zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 2.400,00 (€ 1.990,38) und damit 60% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Johan Adolph Rust erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A shipyard im Oktober 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von NLG 64.361,00 (€ 30.891,16).
