In January 2006 Christies in London held the auction British and Continental Pictures, which included the work Dutch barges in light airs; and A derelict anchored off the beach after the storm by Johan Adolph Rust. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 1,920.00 (€ 2,814.15), 60% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Johan Adolph Rust achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A shipyard in October 2000 with an auction result of NLG 64,361.00 (€ 30,891.16).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 60 % übertroffen
Im Januar 2006 führte Christies in London die Auktion British and Continental Pictures durch, in der auch die Arbeit Dutch barges in light airs; and A derelict anchored off the beach after the storm von Johan Adolph Rust zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 1.920,00 (€ 2.814,15) und damit 60% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Johan Adolph Rust erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A shipyard im Oktober 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von NLG 64.361,00 (€ 30.891,16).
