Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work From the Roman Campagna by Johan Thomas Lundbye was auctioned at Bruun Rasmussen in August this year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of DKK 10,000.00 – 15,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for DKK 7,500.00 (€ 1,006.09). Admittedly, works by Johan Thomas Lundbye have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Dänische Landschaft (Studie). in December 2021 with an auction result of EUR 6,875.00.
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit From the Roman Campagna von Johan Thomas Lundbye im August diesen Jahres bei Bruun Rasmussen versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von DKK 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für DKK 7.500,00 (€ 1.006,09) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Johan Thomas Lundbye auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Dänische Landschaft (Studie). im Dezember 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 6.875,00.
