Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The snowball fight by Mari ten Kate was sold in the Nineteen to Now,Art from the 19th, 20th and 21st centuries including Indonesian Art and Topographical Observations auction at Christies in Amsterdam in September 2010. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of EUR 1,500.00 – 2,000.00, the actual price achieved of EUR 1,625.00 could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Mari ten Kate achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Behind The Ramparts in November 2017 with an auction result of USD 40,000.00 (€ 33,619.10).

Die Arbeit The snowball fight von Mari ten Kate wurde im September 2010 in der Auktion Nineteen to Now,Art from the 19th, 20th and 21st centuries including Indonesian Art and Topographical Observations bei Christies in Amsterdam versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 1.500,00 – 2.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von EUR 1.625,00 konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Mari ten Kate erzielen.
