Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Johann Zoffany could be acquired at Sothebys in London in May 2020 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Refining Taste: Works Selected by Danny Katz auction, the work Perseus And Phineas changed hands for GBP 2,500.00 (€ 2,775.27) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Johann Zoffany achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Garden At Hampton House, With Mr And Mrs David Garrick Taking Tea; And The Shakespeare Temple At Hampton House, With Mr And Mrs David Garrick in December 2011 with an auction result of GBP 6,761,250.00 (€ 8,097,551.93).
Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Garden At Hampton House, With Mr And Mrs David Garrick Taking Tea; And The Shakespeare Temple At Hampton House, With Mr And Mrs David Garrick im Dezember 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 6.761.250,00 (€ 8.097.551,93).
