Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2021 Christies held the auction Photographs, which included the work Abandoned Freighter, Homer, Alaska, July 1984 by Joel Sternfeld. The price achieved of USD 10,000.00 (€ 8,656.51) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. Admittedly, works by Joel Sternfeld have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work On This Site: Landscape In Memoriam, 1993-1996 in April 2004 with an auction result of USD 153,100.00 (€ 77,518.99).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober 2021 führte Christies die Auktion Photographs durch, in der auch die Arbeit Abandoned Freighter, Homer, Alaska, July 1984 von Joel Sternfeld zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 10.000,00 (€ 8.656,51) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Joel Sternfeld auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit On This Site: Landscape In Memoriam, 1993-1996 im April 2004 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 153.100,00 (€ 77.518,99).
