Auction result well in line with expectations
In November this year Phillips in New York held the auction 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale, Morning Session, which included this untitled work by Joel Shapiro. It changed hands for a price of USD 38,100.00 (€ 34,928.49) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 30,000.00 – 40,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Joel Shapiro achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work without title in March 2016 with an auction result of USD 701,000.00 (€ 615,452.15).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November diesen Jahres führte Phillips in New York die Auktion 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale, Morning Session durch, in der auch diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Joel Shapiro zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 38.100,00 (€ 34.928,49) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 30.000,00 – 40.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Joel Shapiro erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit ohne Titel im März 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 701.000,00 (€ 615.452,15).
