Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In March this year Christies in New York held the auction Post-War to Present, which included this untitled work by Joel Shapiro. Here, the upper estimate of USD 50,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 52,920.00 (€ 48,675.50). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Joel Shapiro achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work without title in March 2016 with an auction result of USD 701,000.00 (€ 615,452.15).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im März diesen Jahres führte Christies in New York die Auktion Post-War to Present durch, in der auch diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Joel Shapiro zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 50.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 52.920,00 (€ 48.675,50) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Joel Shapiro erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit ohne Titel im März 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 701.000,00 (€ 615.452,15).
