Auction result well in line with expectations

Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Joel-Peter Witkin achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Kiss in April 2000 with an auction result of USD 35,250.00 (€ 38,783.14).

Der dabei erzielte Preis von EUR 3.840,00 lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit EUR 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Joel-Peter Witkin erzielen.
