Auction result well in line with expectations
In November last year Phillips in New York held the auction 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale, Afternoon Session, which included the work Untitled (Home Theater) by Joel Mesler. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 30,000.00 – 50,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 31,500.00 (€ 30,514.39) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Joel Mesler achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work To Life in May last year with an auction result of USD 907,200.00 (€ 845,401.17).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November letzten Jahres führte Phillips in New York die Auktion 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale, Afternoon Session durch, in der auch die Arbeit Untitled (Home Theater) von Joel Mesler zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 30.000,00 – 50.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 31.500,00 (€ 30.514,39) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Joel Mesler erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit To Life im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 907.200,00 (€ 845.401,17).
