This work without title by Joan Brown was sold in the Living with Art auction at Christies in New York in August 2017. It achieved a price of USD 9,375.00 (€ 7,892.74), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 56%. Admittedly, works by Joan Brown have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Untitled (Portrait of Jay de Feo) in November 2005 with an auction result of USD 78,000.00 (€ 66,157.76).

Diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Joan Brown wurde im August 2017 in der Auktion Living with Art bei Christies in New York versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von USD 9.375,00 (€ 7.892,74) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 56%. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Joan Brown auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Untitled (Portrait of Jay de Feo) im November 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 78.000,00 (€ 66.157,76).
