Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Metal Box (Northern Star) by Jim Lambie was auctioned at Phillips in London in December 2021. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 25,000.00 – 35,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 25,200.00 (€ 30,058.31) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Jim Lambie have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Careless Whisper in March 2019 with an auction result of GBP 175,000.00 (€ 203,117.21).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Metal Box (Northern Star) von Jim Lambie kam im Dezember 2021 bei Phillips in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 25.000,00 – 35.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 25.200,00 (€ 30.058,31) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Jim Lambie auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Careless Whisper im März 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 175.000,00 (€ 203.117,21).
