Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2008 Sothebys in New York held the auction American Paintings, which included the work Tankin' Up And Loadin' Out by Jim C. Norton. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 5,313.00 (€ 3,361.59) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Jim C. Norton have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Where Eagles Fly in October 2020 with an auction result of USD 25,000.00 (€ 21,464.75).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März 2008 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion American Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Tankin' Up And Loadin' Out von Jim C. Norton zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 5.000,00 – 7.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 5.313,00 (€ 3.361,59) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Jim C. Norton auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Where Eagles Fly im Oktober 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 25.000,00 (€ 21.464,75).
