This collection began with the establishment of the L & F Art Gallery in Hong Kong in the early 1980s. This establishment sold the paintings of many contemporary artists of the day and provided the gallery owners with opportunities to meet many of them. At the end of the decade, the gallery was closed and the owner of these paintings moved to the United States. As in classical times, he enjoyed his collection of paintings and calligraphy in his leisure time away from his medical career.

Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Herding Ducks by Jia Youfu was auctioned at Christies in New York in December 2020. It achieved a price of USD 7,500.00 (€ 6,132.46), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 17%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jia Youfu achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Sunglow Over The Land in April 2015 with an auction result of HKD 2,336,400.00 (€ 270,019.35).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Herding Ducks von Jia Youfu kam im Dezember 2020 bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von USD 7.500,00 (€ 6.132,46) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 17%. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jia Youfu erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Sunglow Over The Land im April 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 2.336.400,00 (€ 270.019,35).
