Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Jennifer Lee achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in September 2018. In the Made in Britain auction, the work Spangled, Amber, Coral And Speckled Bands sold for GBP 32,500.00 (€ 36,501.68) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 15,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jennifer Lee - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Pale, Two Speckled Shadow Rings, which sold at auction in October last year for GBP 63,000.00 (€ 73,394.30).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Jennifer Lee erzielte im September 2018 bei Sothebys in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Made in Britain wurde die Arbeit Spangled, Amber, Coral And Speckled Bands für GBP 32.500,00 (€ 36.501,68) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 15.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Jennifer Lee mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Pale, Two Speckled Shadow Rings beobachtet, die im Oktober letzten Jahres für GBP 63.000,00 (€ 73.394,30) versteigert wurde.
