Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Untitled (Sculptor's Model) by Jehangir Sabavala was sold in the The India Sale - South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art auction at Christies in Mumbai in December 2016. The price achieved of INR 2,500,000.00 (€ 34,827.52) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as INR 2,000,000.00 – 3,000,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jehangir Sabavala achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Embarkation in September 2021 with an auction result of USD 1,590,000.00 (€ 1,373,412.80).

Die Arbeit Untitled (Sculptor's Model) von Jehangir Sabavala wurde im Dezember 2016 in der Auktion The India Sale - South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art bei Christies in Mumbai versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von INR 2.500.000,00 (€ 34.827,52) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit INR 2.000.000,00 – 3.000.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jehangir Sabavala erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Embarkation im September 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.590.000,00 (€ 1.373.412,80).
