Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Jeffrey Gibson achieved an unexpectedly high price at Phillips in New York in September this year. In the New Now auction, the work Shield, #3 sold for USD 152,400.00 (€ 143,990.93) - well above the upper estimate of USD 60,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Jeffrey Gibson; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot White Power sold at auction in November 2015 with the realized price of USD 233,000.00 (€ 220,602.16).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Jeffrey Gibson erzielte im September diesen Jahres bei Phillips in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion New Now wurde die Arbeit Shield, #3 für USD 152.400,00 (€ 143.990,93) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 60.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Jeffrey Gibson; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit White Power im November 2015 mit dem Hammerpreis von USD 233.000,00 (€ 220.602,16).
