This artwork by Jeffrey Gibson achieved an unexpectedly high price at Phillips in New York in September 2014. In the Under the Influence auction, the work Like a Hammer (Figure) sold for USD 85,000.00 (€ 67,310.74) - well above the upper estimate of USD 35,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jeffrey Gibson - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work White Power, which sold at auction in November 2015 for USD 233,000.00 (€ 220,602.16).

In der Auktion Under the Influence wurde die Arbeit Like a Hammer (Figure) für USD 85.000,00 (€ 67.310,74) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 35.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Jeffrey Gibson mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit White Power beobachtet, die im November 2015 für USD 233.000,00 (€ 220.602,16) versteigert wurde.
