Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Sundae 2 by Jeanne Dunning was auctioned at Bonhams in New York in April 2021, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 1,500.00 – 2,500.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 1,211.25 (€ 1,006.86). Admittedly, works by Jeanne Dunning have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Neck, 1990; And Detail #16, 1992 in April 2006 with an auction result of USD 10,200.00 (€ 8,079.85).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Sundae 2 von Jeanne Dunning im April 2021 bei Bonhams in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 1.500,00 – 2.500,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 1.211,25 (€ 1.006,86) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Jeanne Dunning auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Neck, 1990; And Detail #16, 1992 im April 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 10.200,00 (€ 8.079,85).
