Auction result misses estimated price range
In January 2021 a collector was able to acquire the work A Cleric on horseback giving his blessing, traditionally identified as Clement XIII by Jean-Robert Ango for USD 378.00 (€ 311.50). This price was achieved in the auction From Taddeo to Tiepolo: The Dr. John O’Brien Collection of Old Master Drawings at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 600.00 – 800.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jean-Robert Ango achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Margaret Of Cortona Finding The Body Of Her Lover, After Marco Benefial in March 2018 with an auction result of EUR 13,750.00.
