This artwork by Jean Metzinger achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in London in October this year. In the Impressionist & Modern Art auction, the work Chat à la balle sold for GBP 48,640.00 (€ 55,852.23) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 25,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jean Metzinger achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Le Cycliste in February 2020 with an auction result of GBP 3,015,000.00 (€ 3,494,391.84).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 95 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Jean Metzinger erzielte im Oktober diesen Jahres bei Bonhams in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Impressionist & Modern Art wurde die Arbeit Chat à la balle für GBP 48.640,00 (€ 55.852,23) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 25.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jean Metzinger erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Le Cycliste im Februar 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 3.015.000,00 (€ 3.494.391,84).
