Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Jean Le Gac could be acquired at Christies in New York in April 2006 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Photographs auction, the work The Painter, 1974 changed hands for USD 1,200.00 (€ 950.57) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jean Le Gac achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Le délassement d'un peintre parisien (avec bohême) in December 2008 with an auction result of EUR 12,250.00.
