Auction result well in line with expectations
In February 2002 Christies in London held the auction BRITISH AND CONTINENTAL PICTURES, which included the work Figures building a sand castle at the seaside by Jean Laurent. The price achieved of GBP 470.00 (€ 766.99) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 400.00 – 600.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jean Laurent achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Album Photographique 'Sevilla', Années 1860/70Album With 104 Albumen Prints On Original Cards, Each Titled, Numbered And With The Photographer'S Name Copied In The Negative At The Lower Edge. in November 2011 with an auction result of EUR 9,375.00.

Im Februar 2002 führte Christies in London die Auktion BRITISH AND CONTINENTAL PICTURES durch, in der auch die Arbeit Figures building a sand castle at the seaside von Jean Laurent zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 470,00 (€ 766,99) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 400,00 – 600,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jean Laurent erzielen.
