Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Dancing around the Maypole on the beach; and Maypole on the beach by Jean Laurent was sold in the BRITISH AND CONTINENTAL PICTURES auction at Christies in London in May 2005. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 400.00 – 600.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 420.00 (€ 620.05) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jean Laurent achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Album Photographique 'Sevilla', Années 1860/70Album With 104 Albumen Prints On Original Cards, Each Titled, Numbered And With The Photographer'S Name Copied In The Negative At The Lower Edge. in November 2011 with an auction result of EUR 9,375.00.

Die Arbeit Dancing around the Maypole on the beach; and Maypole on the beach von Jean Laurent wurde im Mai 2005 in der Auktion BRITISH AND CONTINENTAL PICTURES bei Christies in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 400,00 – 600,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 420,00 (€ 620,05) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jean Laurent erzielen.
