Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In June 2006 Christies in New York held the auction The House Sale, which included the work Lindenia: Iconographie Des Orchidées: Six Plates by Jean Jules Linden. The »bidding war« ended at USD 3,600 (€ 2,817), 20% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Jean Jules Linden have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Pescatorea. Die Arbeit Lindenia: Iconographie Des Orchidées: Six Plates von Jean Jules Linden kam im Juni 2006 bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von USD 3.600,00 (€ 2.817,12) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 20%. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Jean Jules Linden auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Pescatorea.
