Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Lindenia: Iconographie des Orchidées: Six Plates by Jean Jules Linden was sold in the The House Sale auction at Christies in New York in October 2005. It achieved a price of USD 3,600 (€ 3,001), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 20%. Admittedly, works by Jean Jules Linden have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Pescatorea. Die Arbeit Lindenia: Iconographie des Orchidées: Six Plates von Jean Jules Linden wurde im Oktober 2005 in der Auktion The House Sale bei Christies in New York versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 3.600,00 (€ 3.001,25) und damit 20% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Jean Jules Linden auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Pescatorea.
