Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A Woman In Turkish Costume In A Hamam Instructing A Servant by Jean-Etienne Liotard was sold in the Old Masters Evening Sale auction at Sothebys in London in July 2019. The price achieved of GBP 2,355,000.00 (€ 2,585,633.42) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 2,000,000.00 – 3,000,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jean-Etienne Liotard - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A Dutch Girl At Breakfast, which sold at auction in July 2016 for GBP 4,405,000.00 (€ 5,234,092.94).
