Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A trompe l'oeil of a framed mezzotint entitled L'Innocence, with shattered glass by Jean Duplessis-Bertaux was sold in the OLD MASTER PICTURES auction at Christies in London in October 2000. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 4,112.50 (€ 7,029.44) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Other works by Jean Duplessis-Bertaux have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in June 2008 the work Choc De Cavalerie was auctioned for EUR 11,875.00.
