In November 2017 Christies in New York held the auction Impressionist & Modern Art Evening Sale Including Property from The Collection of Nancy Lee and Perry R. Bass, which included the work Les forces mécaniques de l'amour en mouvement by Jean Crotti. The price achieved of USD 1,032,500.00 (€ 867,792.91) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 700,000.00 – 1,500,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Les forces mécaniques de l'amour en mouvement is the most expensive artwork by Jean Crotti that we have observed at auctions so far.
