Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Portrait Of A Lady by Jean-Baptiste Perronneau was auctioned at Sothebys in London in July 2014, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 15,000.00 – 20,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 4,750.00 (€ 5,991.24). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jean-Baptiste Perronneau achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait of a Lady, half length, wearing a pink dress with a lace border, holding a mask in October 2001 with an auction result of USD 76,375.00 (€ 84,927.17).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Portrait Of A Lady von Jean-Baptiste Perronneau im Juli 2014 bei Sothebys in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 15.000,00 – 20.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 4.750,00 (€ 5.991,24) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jean-Baptiste Perronneau erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Portrait of a Lady, half length, wearing a pink dress with a lace border, holding a mask im Oktober 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 76.375,00 (€ 84.927,17).
