Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Huyen, 1999 by Jean-Baptiste Huynh was auctioned at Sothebys in London in November 2008, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 7,000.00 – 9,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 6,250.00 (€ 7,556.72). Admittedly, works by Jean-Baptiste Huynh have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Mali - Portrait Xxiv in February 2008 with an auction result of GBP 38,900.00 (€ 50,879.67).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Huyen, 1999 von Jean-Baptiste Huynh im November 2008 bei Sothebys in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 7.000,00 – 9.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 6.250,00 (€ 7.556,72) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Jean-Baptiste Huynh auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Mali - Portrait Xxiv im Februar 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 38.900,00 (€ 50.879,67).
