The »bidding war« ended at USD 22,500.00 (€ 18,635.08), 50% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jean-Baptiste Huynh - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Mali - Portrait Xxiv, which sold at auction in February 2008 for GBP 38,900.00 (€ 50,879.67).

Die Arbeit 'Ethiopie – Portrait Vi' von Jean-Baptiste Huynh wurde im April 2018 in der Auktion A Beautiful Life: Photographs from the Collection of Leland Hirsch bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 22.500,00 (€ 18.635,08) und damit 50% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Jean-Baptiste Huynh mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Mali - Portrait Xxiv beobachtet, die im Februar 2008 für GBP 38.900,00 (€ 50.879,67) versteigert wurde.
