Admittedly, works by Jean-Baptiste Hilaire have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Portrait of Sultan Abd-ul Hamid I standing in front of a golden throne, a domed palace in the distance in January 2008 with an auction result of USD 157,000.00 (€ 105,788.02).

Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von EUR 13.125,00 und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 64 %. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Jean-Baptiste Hilaire auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Portrait of Sultan Abd-ul Hamid I standing in front of a golden throne, a domed palace in the distance im Januar 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 157.000,00 (€ 105.788,02).
