Auction result well in line with expectations
In July this year Christies in London held the auction Old Master and British Drawings and Watercolours, which included the work A view of Negroponte by Jean-Baptiste Hilaire. The price achieved of GBP 18,900.00 (€ 22,050.57) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 15,000.00 – 25,000.00. Admittedly, works by Jean-Baptiste Hilaire have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Portrait of Sultan Abd-ul Hamid I standing in front of a golden throne, a domed palace in the distance in January 2008 with an auction result of USD 157,000.00 (€ 105,788.02).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juli diesen Jahres führte Christies in London die Auktion Old Master and British Drawings and Watercolours durch, in der auch die Arbeit A view of Negroponte von Jean-Baptiste Hilaire zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 18.900,00 (€ 22.050,57) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 15.000,00 – 25.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Jean-Baptiste Hilaire auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Portrait of Sultan Abd-ul Hamid I standing in front of a golden throne, a domed palace in the distance im Januar 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 157.000,00 (€ 105.788,02).
