Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Couple by Jean-Baptiste Frenet was auctioned at Christies in Paris in November 2002, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of EUR 1,000.00 – 1,500.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for EUR 881.25. Admittedly, works by Jean-Baptiste Frenet have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Trois femmes in November 2002 with an auction result of EUR 3,995.00.
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Couple von Jean-Baptiste Frenet im November 2002 bei Christies in Paris versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 1.000,00 – 1.500,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für EUR 881,25 den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Jean-Baptiste Frenet auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Trois femmes im November 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 3.995,00.
