In January 2021 Sothebys in New York held the auction Old Master Drawings, which included the work Christ on the Mountain by Jean-Auguste-Dominique Ingres. The »bidding war« ended at USD 25,200.00 (€ 20,766.38), 68% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jean-Auguste-Dominique Ingres achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait de la comtesse de La Rue in February 2009 with an auction result of EUR 2,081,000.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis um 68 % übertroffen
Im Januar 2021 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Old Master Drawings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Christ on the Mountain von Jean-Auguste-Dominique Ingres zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 25.200,00 (€ 20.766,38) und damit 68% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jean-Auguste-Dominique Ingres erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Portrait de la comtesse de La Rue im Februar 2009 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 2.081.000,00.
