Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Lente en winter by Jan Wolkers was auctioned at Christies in Amsterdam in January 2005, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of EUR 300.00 – 500.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for EUR 288.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jan Wolkers achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work without title in June 2008 with an auction result of EUR 5,000.00.
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Lente en winter von Jan Wolkers im Januar 2005 bei Christies in Amsterdam versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 300,00 – 500,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für EUR 288,00 den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jan Wolkers erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit ohne Titel im Juni 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 5.000,00.
