Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A walk on a bridge in Ghent by Jan Weissenbruch was sold in the Nineteen to Now, Art from the 19th, 20th and the 21st Centuries auction at Christies in Amsterdam in March 2011. The price achieved of EUR 1,250.00 was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as EUR 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jan Weissenbruch achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Bomschuiten at sea on a cloudy day in April 2001 with an auction result of NLG 345,000.00 (€ 158,348.55).
