Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Jan Victors could be acquired at Christies in New York in January this year for an unexpectedly low price. In the Remastered: Old Masters from the Collection of J.E. Safra - Selling Without Reserve auction, the work Ruth and Boaz changed hands for USD 94,500.00 (€ 87,032.60) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 150,000.00 – 250,000.00. Other works by Jan Victors have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in June 2015 by the work Ruth And Naomi at USD 187,500.00 (€ 168,101.13).
