Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Diogenes searching for an Honest Man by Jan Victors was auctioned at Christies in Amsterdam in May 2009. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of EUR 15,000.00 – 20,000.00, the actual price achieved of EUR 16,250.00 could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jan Victors achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Ruth And Naomi in June 2015 with an auction result of USD 187,500.00 (€ 168,101.13).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Diogenes searching for an Honest Man von Jan Victors kam im Mai 2009 bei Christies in Amsterdam zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 15.000,00 – 20.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von EUR 16.250,00 konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jan Victors erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Ruth And Naomi im Juni 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 187.500,00 (€ 168.101,13).
