Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Jan Vermeulen achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in May 2020. In the Old Masters including Portrait Miniatures from the Pohl-Ströher Collection auction, the work Still Life With An Open Book sold for GBP 62,500.00 (€ 69,381.87) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 30,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Jan Vermeulen; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Vanitas Still Life: Skull With An Ivy Wreath, A Crown, Money Bags, An Hourglass And A Book Of Sheet Music, Pearls And Other Objects On A Stone Plinth sold at auction in February 2013 with the realized price of USD 98,500.00 (€ 75,311.57).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Jan Vermeulen erzielte im Mai 2020 bei Sothebys in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Old Masters including Portrait Miniatures from the Pohl-Ströher Collection wurde die Arbeit Still Life With An Open Book für GBP 62.500,00 (€ 69.381,87) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 30.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Jan Vermeulen; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Vanitas Still Life: Skull With An Ivy Wreath, A Crown, Money Bags, An Hourglass And A Book Of Sheet Music, Pearls And Other Objects On A Stone Plinth im Februar 2013 mit dem Hammerpreis von USD 98.500,00 (€ 75.311,57).
