It achieved a price of EUR 48,250.00 exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 61 %. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Jan Vermeulen; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Vanitas Still Life: Skull With An Ivy Wreath, A Crown, Money Bags, An Hourglass And A Book Of Sheet Music, Pearls And Other Objects On A Stone Plinth sold at auction in February 2013 with the realized price of USD 98,500.00 (€ 75,311.57).
