In July 2017 Sothebys in London held the auction Old Masters Evening Sale, which included the work Still Life With Grapes, Melon, Plums, A White Mouse, Blue Tit And Two Goldfish In A Glass Bowl by Jan van Os. The result of GBP 100,000.00 (€ 111,584.64) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 100,000.00 – 150,000.00. Admittedly, works by Jan van Os have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Pink and yellow roses, peonies, an iris, tulips, primulas, hyacinths, a poppy, a coxcomb, fritillaries and other flowers in a sculpted urn with a bird's nest on a marble ledge in July 2002 with an auction result of GBP 369,650.00 (€ 589,606.09).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im Juli 2017 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Old Masters Evening Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Still Life With Grapes, Melon, Plums, A White Mouse, Blue Tit And Two Goldfish In A Glass Bowl von Jan van Os zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von GBP 100.000,00 (€ 111.584,64) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 100.000,00 – 150.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Jan van Os auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Pink and yellow roses, peonies, an iris, tulips, primulas, hyacinths, a poppy, a coxcomb, fritillaries and other flowers in a sculpted urn with a bird's nest on a marble ledge im Juli 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 369.650,00 (€ 589.606,09).
