It achieved a price of GBP 68,500.00 (€ 94,066.30), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 37%. Admittedly, works by Jan van Os have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Pink and yellow roses, peonies, an iris, tulips, primulas, hyacinths, a poppy, a coxcomb, fritillaries and other flowers in a sculpted urn with a bird's nest on a marble ledge in July 2002 with an auction result of GBP 369,650.00 (€ 589,606.09).
