Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A colourful bouquet of roses, poppies, tulips and primroses in a garden landscape by Jan van Os was sold in the Old Masters & 19th Century Art - (including Dutch Impressionism) auction at Christies in Amsterdam in May 2016. The price achieved of EUR 9,375.00 was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as EUR 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jan van Os achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Pink and yellow roses, peonies, an iris, tulips, primulas, hyacinths, a poppy, a coxcomb, fritillaries and other flowers in a sculpted urn with a bird's nest on a marble ledge in July 2002 with an auction result of GBP 369,650.00 (€ 589,606.09).

Der dabei erzielte Preis von EUR 9.375,00 lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit EUR 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jan van Os erzielen.
